SAN FRANCISCO—A San Francisco Amazon Go store will soon offer fountain drinks, hot food and espressos, Yahoo! Finance reports. The location, which is being revamped, has filed additional permits with the city to increase its food menu. In Chicago, an Amazon Go store also has closed for renovations, although it’s unclear whether that store will be adding the same new categories.
Amazon Go’s website indicated that the San Francisco store will “be back with new features and flavors in the spring.” The move comes when more retailers are increasing food options at convenience stores to meet consumer demand.
Quick-service stores also see more revenue from food items, according to a recent CNN story. The report also found that millennials aren’t willing to take the time to visit fast-food restaurants like McDonald’s and Domino’s Pizza.
