OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.—Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores has big plans for the coming year, according to Chain Store Age. The 500-unit travel stop chain plans to open as many as 40 additional stores and add about 3,000 parking spots in 2020. The announcement comes after a busy 2019, during which Love’s opened its 500th location and raised a record $3.75 million for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
"We enter 2020 with lots of momentum that we'll continue through customer-experience enhancements, product offerings and the best value on the road," said Shane Wharton, president of Love’s. "We'll open stores from coast to coast, continue to provide products and services that our customers depend upon and enhance our reputation as the company known for highway hospitality."
The new travel stops will mean the addition of about 40 Love's Truck Care Centers and Speedcos, bringing the total location count to more than 400 and creating the nation's largest oil change and preventative maintenance network, the retailer reported.
In addition, Love's expects to update the Love's Connect mobile app with new features and introduce Love's Financial mobile app to help customers better manage cash flow and cover expenses like fuel, maintenance and payroll without creating business debt. Additional plans call for new fresh food offerings and more Love's-branded items.
