ALTOONA, Pa.—Sheetz For the Kidz, the c-store chain’s employee-driven charity founded in 1992, raised a record $704,658 in in-store donations for its 2019 Christmas fundraiser. The fundraiser gave 9,600 children in need across six states the chance to celebrate the holidays with gifts like toys and clothes, reports CBS 19 News.
"We are deeply grateful for our customers' tremendous generosity," said Travis Sheetz, the president and COO of Sheetz. "Thanks to their donations, Sheetz For the Kids was able to make this past holiday season a bright one for thousands of children and families in need."
Sheetz employees volunteered their own time to shop, wrap and host holiday parties for the children and the families they helped.
