VEVEY, Switzerland—Nestlé is rolling out new KitKat and Yorkie chocolate bars in the United Kingdom and Ireland as part of a new range called More, according to Foodbev.com. Both treats feature fruit, nuts and cereal, and according to Nestlé, both bars contain more protein, fiber and 30% less sugar than comparable chocolate bars.
KitKat Chunky More is a crispy wafer combined with a thick layer of real fruit and hazelnut. Yorkie More contains crunchy oat clusters, crisp apple pieces and a hint of cinnamon, coated with Yorkie chocolate. Both new bars were developed at Nestlé’s global R&D center and are described by the company as “another step in Nestlé’s ongoing work to innovate and develop its confectionery to provide better choices.”
“We are really proud of these latest innovations,” said Alex Gonnella, marketing director for Nestlé Confectionery in the U.K. and Ireland. “This range really does offer more.”
The KitKat Chunky More goes on sale next week, and the Yorkie More will follow before the end of the year. There is no word when consumers might see More on North American shores.
