ALTOONA, Pa.—To celebrate its 600th store opening, Sheetz is running a contest to give away bottles of the company’s coveted Boom Boom Sauce, reports Fox43-TV.
Starting on Friday, Nov. 28, “Sheetz Freakz” and all other customers will have the opportunity to win one of 600 16-ounce bottles of Boom Boom, a mayonnaise-based garlic chili sauce Sheetz serves with many of its food offerings. This is a limited offer and marks the first time that Sheetz has ever bottled its famous sauce. Once the existing 600 bottles are claimed, no more bottles will be available.
To enter, customers can visit https://www.sheetzshweepstakes.com, read the rules and regulations and enter their registered MySheetz Card number and contact information. The 600 winners will be chosen at random. The contest runs from 12 a.m. Friday, Nov. 29 to 11:59 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6 and recognizes Sheetz’s 600th store opening in December.
The contest follows a social media promotion earlier this month that saw Sheetz mailing bottles of Boom Boom Sauce to customers who had raved about the product on Twitter, including unsolicited comments that went back as far as 2017. The sauce arrived in a box with a Sheetz MTO t-shirt and a note that replied to the original Tweet.
“The Twitter campaign ties into everything c-stores do well—creating and celebrating loyalty,” said Jeff Lenard, vice president of strategic industry initiatives, NACS. “It’s fair to say that Sheetz is taking advantage of social media to tell a story, and who tells a story better than your own customers? Plus, it’s a PR campaign that can be executed far cheaper than buying radio or TV ads.”
