BLACKBURN, England—Vape Dinner Lady, a vape product company, has opened 14 shop-in-a-shop formats in Euro Garages gas stations in England to provide consumers with a full range of e-liquids, devices and accessories, including the company’s new disposable e-cigarette, according to TalkingRetail.com.
“Opening a range of concession stores in forecourt services stations makes sense for both retailers and consumers,” said John Taylor, chief marketing officer for Vape Dinner Lady. “Our new concession store formats bring first-mover advantage for retailers. They fill the gap left by reducing sales of cigarettes and make it easy for consumers to shop [for] a wide range of products in both vape and CBD.”
Changing consumer behavior has seen shoppers switch from cigarettes to vaping, and company officials believe the vape category is now increasingly important in the convenience channel.
“Demand for quality vape products has grown significantly in recent years as consumers switch from cigarettes to vaping, which is regarded by Public Health England as being 95% less harmful than smoking tobacco,” Taylor said.
The launch is part of a new partnership with EG Group, a leading independent fuel station chain, which saw the new concession store formats open at forecourts in Burnley, Bolton, Warren, Stevenage, Ramsbottom, Three Arches, Snowhill, Cannock, Oval and Weld Blundell. More concessions are expected to open in 2020.
Separately, Euro Garages and JUUL have struck a deal to sell the e-cigarette company’s starter kits and pods in about 380 locations across the United Kingdom, Forecourt Trader reports.
John Patterson, sales director of JUUL Labs UK, commented: “Euro Garages is one of the fastest growing and most recognisable brands in the forecourt sector. It is a fantastic example of a forecourt operator who continues to invest in its sites to meet the evolving needs of consumers.”
