WASHINGTON—The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) on May 13 extended Regional Emergency Declarations for Florida and California. The hours of service waivers will be in effect until the emergency ends, or through July 17, 2019, whichever comes first.
The agency first issued the waiver for California on Nov. 15, 2018, in response to last year’s wildfires. FMCSA granted Florida its initial waiver on October 9, 2018, in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael.
