ALEXANDRIA, Va.—Today, July 31 from 1 to 2 p.m., NACS welcomes Craig Fugate, former administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), to headline a free NACS webinar focusing on emergency preparedness and planning for convenience retailers using new resources developed by NACS.

The webinar, “Convenience Store Emergency Planning”, follows the release of the new Convenience Store Emergency Planning and Job Aids produced by NACS, which are available for download. “The webinar and new NACS resources can help retailers evaluate their internal processes for reopening quickly and returning to normalcy after a disaster or other emergency,” said Carolyn Schnare, NACS director of strategic initiatives.

In 2018, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s National Infrastructure Protection Program Challenge project was awarded to NACS with the purpose of identifying and enhancing how convenience stores and other local neighborhood stores can boost their resiliency as they plan, prepare and recover from a disaster.
