LAWRENCE, Mass. – Energy North Group (ENG), with support from its vendor partners Snyder’s Lance, Frito-Lay and Pepsi, is providing “Lunch on Us” to Logan Airport Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employees.
Starting on January 21 and going through January 25, TSA employees can receive a free lunch of a freshly-made sandwich, snack-size bag of chips and fountain drink at the Energy North Gulf at Logan Airport. TSA employees may avail themselves of this offer each day and must be in uniform or displaying a badge upon arrival.
“We recognize the strain and sacrifices these dedicated employees are making to keep our air travel safe and uninterrupted,” said Jonathan Ketchum, ENG vice president of retail. “We want to do our share to express our gratitude and make things a little easier for them.”
ENG also handed out $20 gas gift cards (550 Mobil and 550 Gulf) to Massport for distribution to the TSA workforce.
In Jericho, New York, JFK Travel Plaza announced a Federal Worker Relief Program. The program is designed to help the federal workers who are struggling without a paycheck, and still coming to work, purchase what they need now and pay later when they get paid.
The 7-Eleven at JFK Airport will extend federal workers house accounts allowing them to make purchases with the promise of payment when they receive their paychecks. “It must be very difficult for the hard-working employees at JFK that keep us safe to go through their daily lives not knowing when they will get paid,” said George AbiZeid, president of JFK Travel Plaza.
Under the terms of the program, federal workers can show their government-issued ID and sign the receipt. Once the shutdown ends and the workers receive their paycheck, they can settle their outstanding balance.
