CHICAGO—Lovers of McDonald’s can now show their affinity for the brand with clothing from the online shop Golden Arches Unlimited, Chain Store Age reports. The new online store celebrates the brand with themed-merchandise, such as a holiday sweater featuring the famous Golden Arches and a Happy Meal t-shirt.
Each season, the store will rotate its stock, which also includes accessories, such as branded tote bags, journals, hair ties and umbrellas. For more than three decades, McDonald’s has joined with fashion brands and retailers on limited edition items. Two years ago, the chain debuted its own limited-time offerings of branded merchandise via its McDelivery Collection.
Golden Arches Unlimited lists more than 20 branded items. “McDonald’s has been ingrained in the fabric of culture for years, and there's a long history of fans wearing our brand with pride,” said Colin Mitchell, senior vice president of global marketing at McDonald’s Corp. “We’re excited to help customers wear their brand love on their sleeves with the unveiling of Golden Arches Unlimited as we continue to inspire feel good moments with McDonald's.”
Other fast-food chains have dabbled in branded merchandise and clothing, including White Castle with its first online holiday gift guide (“House of Crave”) and Dunkin’s online holiday pop-up shop that it will bring back for the 2020 winter season. Both Dunkin’ and White Castle will shutter their stores upon the season’s end.
