Sheetz, Wawa in Competition for 'Best Regional Fast Food'

Fans may vote in USA Today contest until April 8.

PITTSBURGH, Penn. - Two top c-store food providers are battling it out for the USA Today’s Readers’ Choice Award for “Best Regional Fast Food,” and it’s not too late to cast a vote, according to Pittsburgh’s local CBS station.

Both Sheetz convenience stores based in Altoona, Pennsylvania, and Wawa stores based in Wawa, Pennsylvania, are duking it out in the newspaper’s annual food popularity contest, along with 18 other foodservice providers.

Sheetz has 600 locations throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio and North Carolina, and is loved for its 24/7 service and a diverse, made-to-order menu. Wawa has more than 800 locations in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C. and Florida, and is renowned for its built-to-specification hoagies and other offerings.

Fans of the 20 different nominees can vote once a day until noon on Monday, April 8, by clicking here. The top 10 winners will be announced on Friday, April 19. The contest is held each year to determine the best-loved businesses in regions nationwide.
