Happy Birthday to Wawa
Customers get free coffee today in honor of the chain’s 55th anniversary.

PHILADELPHIA, Penn. – Wawa stores of Wawa, Pennsylvania, today is marking the chain’s 55th anniversary with a Wawa Day celebration, and customers get the gift—a free any-size self-serve coffee, according to local NBC10 Philadelphia.
The original Wawa Food Market opened on April 16, 1964, in Folsom, Pennsylvania, an outlet that continued to serve customers until two years ago when a “Super Wawa” store was built down the street.
Wawa employees expect to pass out an estimated two million free cups of java to customers at its more than 790 stores across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Florida and Washington D.C., during the Wawa Day celebration.
