– Customers at participating Shell-branded fuel stations across the United States will be able to redeem rewards points in real-time directly at the pump. The joint initiative is with Excentus, a loyalty marketing and technology firm recently acquired by PDI Software, and FIS, a financial services technology company.
“With a single swipe of a payment card, FIS Loyalty program customers will be able to turn their points into savings on quality Shell fuel, delivering real-time value at the pump, while encouraging future visits,” said Brian Jefferson, senior vice president of business development for Excentus, in a press release.
More than 23 million customers can participate in the FIS Premium Payback redemption network, which links thousands of retail point-of-sale locations with customer card rewards programs. The program, which complements existing retailer rewards programs, helps merchants and retailers increase traffic, grow revenue, and enhance customer engagement and loyalty.
“With its real-time redemption capabilities and broad network of participating rewards programs, FIS Premium Payback helps retailers like Shell differentiate themselves at point-of-sale and drive return business,” said Bruce Lowthers, COO for integrated payment solutions at FIS.
