WARSAW, Poland – Carrefour Polska has launched another innovation in its franchise convenience stores: mini self-service cash registers. After successfully completed tests, the new checkout solution has been installed at select Orange Carrefour Express stores in Warsaw
and Gdansk. At the beginning of next year, the network plans to introduce self-service checkouts for another 20 locations.
This modern solution also provides support for franchisees in store management, allowing them to improve their service especially during rush hour and providing customers with the ability to quickly and conveniently finalize their daily purchases. The prototype of a mini self-service cash register was presented last year at the Carrefour Fair, and then tested in selected convenience stores.
“As an omnichannel network, whose ambition is to be the leader of innovation in Polish trade, we try to respond to the needs of customers by testing and introducing innovative solutions in various formats of stores. Self-service bills—so far available in supermarkets and hypermarkets—are unrivaled solutions in the convenience segment, which allows you to unload queues during rush hour and provide customers with even more convenience in everyday shopping,” said Michał Florkiewicz, director of convenience stores at Carrefour Polska, in a press release.
