South Carolina-based Corner Pantry said it is “continuing to invest” in the state with the purchase of 4.5 acres and the addition of a new store and Shell-branded fuel station at 51 East Dekalb St in Camden. The retailer told NACS the new store is scheduled to open in July 2026.

The new Corner Pantry store will be the company’s fifth location in the Camden area. Corner Pantry serves the Midlands of South Carolina with 26 store locations, as well as commercial fueling, fuel transportation and fuel delivery services.

“We’re proud to be a part of the Camden community and excited for this new location that will provide customers a safe and clean environment for fast, convenient gas and food and beverage service,” said Corner Pantry Owner and CEO David Tucker, Sr.

Meanwhile, Georgia-based Clipper Petroleum plans to open two new stores later this summer.

“After months of progress, our new Clipper stores in Jasper and Cumming are nearing the finish line and projected to open later this summer. We’re grateful for the teams bringing these projects to life and can’t wait to welcome customers through the doors soon,” the company posted on LinkedIn.

Meanwhile in Louisiana, BP Pulse recently opened its first EV charging hub in the state, a spokesperson for the company told NACS.

Located at a Travel Centers of America (TA) site in Slidell, Louisiana, the site is located off I-10 and features 12 ultrafast EV charging bays with a mix of CCS and NACS connectors.

“Drivers can enjoy amenities at the Travel Center while charging, including a convenience store, on-site diner and restrooms. This launch builds on BP Pulse’s plans to install EV charging hubs at TA and Petro locations across the U.S. These brands are part of the BP portfolio, with sites strategically located across key highway corridors allowing for enroute charging when and where drivers need it most,” the spokesperson said.
