Earlier this month, RaceTrac Vice President of Marketing Jamie Miller served as a judge during the Boys & Girls Clubs of America Southeast Youth of the Year Celebration. The event took place at the Georgia Aquarium’s Oceans Ballroom in Atlanta, and honored “exceptional teen leaders from across the region who serve as their local Club’s Youth of the Year.”
RaceTrac team members also attended the event last week honoring teen leaders in the region.
The retailer posted a Q&A with Miller on their website about the program.
“We don’t just operate stores; we operate in neighborhoods filled with young people who deserve every opportunity to thrive,” Miller said in the Q&A. “These honorees represent resilience, character and ambition. When we support them, we’re investing in the next generation of innovators, community builders and changemakers who will define the future of our communities.”
Miller highlighted that RaceTrac organizes volunteer events throughout the year, giving team members the chance to connect directly with the Boys & Girls Clubs youth.
“This year, we’re hosting Back to School parties at Clubs across three of our markets, helping students start the year with confidence, supplies and a sense of celebration,” Miller said.
The retailer has also previously raised more than $1 million for Boys & Girls Clubs of America, according to the Q&A. RaceTrac's upcoming “Coffee for a Cause” program will run July 19-25 and will raise money for the program.
Miller said that the honorees at last week’s event went beyond academic achievement and service with a “remarkable ability to turn adversity into purpose.”
“As a judge, I was struck by how each honoree embodies the core values of the Boys & Girls Clubs: leadership, integrity, perseverance and a genuine desire to make a positive impact,” Miller said in the Q&A. “This group didn’t just meet expectations; they raised the bar for what youth leadership looks like.”
In other recent RaceTrac news, in February, RaceTrac said it had selected Capillary Technologies, a provider of AI-powered loyalty solutions, to transform its loyalty program.
