It’s official. The former Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa, is now the Casey’s Center. The venue had been known by its previous name since it opened in 2005.

According to the Des Moines Register, the retailer is paying $18.3 million to hold the naming rights for 10 years. The change took effect July 1.

Arena concessions stands will now offer Casey’s snacks and pizza, and one of the venue’s foodservice locations is now a Casey’s Grab & Go. The Register notes that the venue hosts concerts, rodeos, high school sports tournaments, AHL hockey games and G-League basketball games, among other events.

The deal was announced in October. At the time, Angela Connolly, chair of the Polk County Board of Supervisors, said: "This venue holds significant importance for many across Iowa, the Midwest, and beyond. … Casey’s has a deep history in the state of Iowa and is ingrained in communities across the state and beyond."

Darren Rebelez, Casey’s CEO, wrote in October: “This is the hub of nearly 200 events each year and Casey’s wants to be a force multiplier for what’s happening here, and across the region.”

In other recent Casey’s news, the retailer shared its financial results for the past quarter and year in June. Rebelez said at the time: “Casey’s delivered another record fiscal year as our team continued to execute on our three-year strategic plan, reaching $546.5 million of net income and $1.2 billion in EBITDA. Inside same-store sales outperformed the industry, up 2.6%, or 7.1% on a two-year stack basis, led by strong performance in hot sandwiches and bakery as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.”
