Matt Durand Joins NACS as Deputy General Counsel

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Matt Durand joined NACS as deputy general counsel on January 6.
Prior to joining NACS, Durand served as vice president of corporate affairs for EG America, where he was responsible for the government relations, public affairs, communications and sustainability teams. He previously served as senior counsel for the company, overseeing legislative and regulatory matters cross-functional integration initiatives. Durand joined EG after it acquired Cumberland Farms, where he served as manager of government affairs and public policy.
“We are very happy to welcome Matt to NACS,” said NACS General Counsel Doug Kantor. “His knowledge of the convenience store industry and experience leading public policy campaigns will be great assets to NACS’ advocacy on behalf of the entire industry.”
Durand earned a B.A. from Stonehill College in public administration and a Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School. He has been active in NACS, serving as a team leader for legislative fly-ins since 2015 and as a member of the NACS Legislative Committee since 2020.
