In Our Backyard, a nonprofit dedicated to fighting human trafficking, received a $348,750 donation from BP during the 2026 BP Amoco Marketers Association (BPAMA) Convention and Expo in Miami.

In Our Backyard is a nonprofit organization that fights human trafficking across the United States through awareness, education, mobilization, prevention programs, survivor advocacy and partnerships. Its Convenience Stores Against Trafficking (CSAT) program equips convenience stores with no-cost training on human trafficking for their employees. Its “Freedom Stickers” that feature the National Human Trafficking Hotline number (1-888-373-7888) are now displayed in more than 50,000 convenience stores across the country.

In August 2025, all BP and Amoco locations in the United States carried messages about In Our Backyard on fueling dispensers.

“For some children in need of freedom, a convenience store may be one of the few safe, visible places they pass through. In a moment of crisis, awareness inside a store can create a pathway to safety. When stores share these messages and employees trust their instincts to report concerns, survivors passing through everyday spaces may become aware that help and resources exist. These moments of awareness have already contributed to numerous recoveries of children and adults across the country,” said In Our Backyard Executive Director Cheryl Csiky.

“Our connection to In Our Backyard is longstanding and rooted in a shared belief that everyone deserves safety, dignity and the chance to be found,” said Lisa Blalock, vice president, US convenience and mobility for BP and a NACS board member. “I’m incredibly proud that our team continues to show up with compassion, courage and commitment to being part of the solution.”

“We wouldn't be where we are without the tremendous support of BP and the greater convenience store community,” added Csiky. “Convenience stores posting the Freedom Sticker in restroom stalls reach over four million Americans a day. Survivors say the inside of a restroom stall is the safest place to reach out for help–and they report visiting convenience stores every day.”
