Sheetz has been named to this year’s "Companies that Care" list by Great Place To Work and People Magazine. The annual list, now in its 10th year, “highlights the top companies in the U.S. that have succeeded in business while also demonstrating outstanding respect, care and concern for their employees and a deep commitment to their communities,” according to the report.
Sheetz said this marks the fifth consecutive year, and sixth time in seven years, that it has been ranked on the national list. Sheetz ranks 73rd on this year's list.
“Ninety percent of employees surveyed at Sheetz said it is a great place to work compared to 57% of employees at a typical U.S.-based company. Additionally, 93% of Sheetz employees feel good about the ways the company contributes to the community,” the retailer said in a press release sent to NACS.
Sheetz said it remains committed to offering employees sustainable careers built on an inspiring culture and community engagement.
“Being recognized for the fifth straight year as a ‘Company that Cares’ is incredibly meaningful because it reflects what our employees experience every day,” said Travis Sheetz, president & CEO of Sheetz. “Taking care of our people has always been at the heart of who we are as an organization, and that commitment naturally extends to the communities we serve. This honor belongs to our entire Sheetz team, whose care and dedication makes a positive difference for each other and our customers each and every day.”
The People Companies that Care list is based on over 1.3 million employee survey responses and data from companies, representing the experience of more than 7.3 million employees in the U.S.
Earlier this year, Sheetz was named to this year’s list of 100 Best Companies to Work For by Fortune Media and Great Place to Work for the 11th consecutive year. The company ranked 32nd on the list—its highest placement ever, it said.
