MANILA, Philippines—In the Philippines, more people drive motorcycles than cars. In fact, 18.8 million motorbikes are registered in the country, and they make up a total of 71% of overall vehicles, according to the Land Transportation Office, Petrol Plaza News reports.
To cater to this large population, Shell V-Power has debuted biker fuel lanes, designed specifically for motorcycles. These biker fuel islands will provide special services, such as free services and VIP treatment.
“We hope to serve the bikers in our communities to make their experience as positive as possible in our stations,” said Jerome David, Shell V-Power brand manager.
To easily identify the lanes, Shell painted them red. The company will also give bikers free seat and helmet cleaning, plus a free consultation with motorcycle-trained station staff on bike maintenance and oil checks. The dedicated hubs will also accelerate the speed of service and transactions for bikers.
“Our bikers have always braved traffic and the changing elements of the weather to bring us the goods and services we need. Now, since the start of the pandemic, they have also been performing critical services such as the delivery of vital products like food, medicine, and groceries, to the countless others who are on city-wide quarantine. This is why Shell would like to give them dedicated attention every time they come to our biker fuel lanes,” said Shell Philippines Vice President for Shell Retail Randy del Valle in Yahoo! News.
