NEW YORK, N.Y. – Whole Foods Market has opened a convenient alternative to its full-scale grocery store in New York’s Chelsea neighborhood. Eater reports that the new Whole Foods Market Daily Shop features an acai bowl station and kombucha on tap.

Located at 250 Seventh Avenue, the “bodega-like convenience store” has self-checkout kiosks and focuses on local products, as well as grab-and-go food. Featured local companies and goods include produce from Gotham Greens, breads from Balthazar, doughnuts from Dunwell and Dough, and coffee from Allegro Coffee Co.

Customers can also get common grocery items like pet food and avocados, toothbrushes and shampoo—even house plants. And for shoppers who’d rather stay and eat, bar seating is available.

The store, a new concept for Whole Foods, is open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. It’s right across the street from a regular Whole Foods Market. Industry watchers are curious to see if this new brick-and-mortar concept will pan out—considering the ups and downs of Whole Foods’ experiments.
