Oregon-based Plaid Pantry teamed up with the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) to “help Portlanders ride safer this summer” by distributing bike helmets to the community.
Starting June 1, PBOT and Plaid Pantry began distributing 5,000 helmets across 53 Plaid Pantry locations throughout Portland. “Helmets will be available for two weeks, or while supplies last, thanks to support from Lime,” Plaid Pantry said.
Helmets will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis to Portlanders ages 12 and older, with a limit of one helmet per person. Each helmet will also include a free Plaid Pantry sticker.
The retailer said the partnership with Lime marks the kickoff of the “Summer of Safe Riding” campaign, bringing accessible safety gear directly to communities across the metro area.
Over at Stewart’s Shops, the retailer has teamed up with the American Red Cross of Eastern New York to kick off its annual ‘Give a Pint, Get a Pint’ campaign.
The event rewards blood donations with a certificate for a free pre-packaged pint of Stewart’s ice cream or gelato to anyone who donates blood at a participating Red Cross location during the June 2026 campaign.
Stewart’s said the campaign has attracted more than 100,000 blood donors since the program started in 2016.
Stinker Stores recently raised $75,000 through its Pieces of Hope campaign, and donated to 13 organizations “dedicated to helping women and children who have experienced abuse,” the retailer said on LinkedIn.
“Every donation, every purchase and every act of support helped put another piece in place for someone rebuilding their life. We're proud to stand alongside these organizations as they provide safety, healing, hope and a path forward for those who need it most,” Stinker Stores said.
