Southwest Georgia Oil Company Inc., parent company to SunStop, has completed the acquisition of Big Boss Stores’ portfolio of 10 convenience retail locations, the company’s commercial and wholesale fuel and warehouse operations and additional real estate sites, according to a press release sent to NACS.

The Big Boss retail sites are located throughout the Florida panhandle and will be integrated into Southwest Georgia Oil’s SunStop convenience store network, according to the company.

“Nine of the acquired locations will operate under the SunStop banner, expanding the company’s total store count to 91 across Georgia, Florida and Alabama. The company also plans to open its 92nd SunStop store later this year as part of its continued growth strategy,” the retailer said.

Alongside the retail acquisition, Southwest Georgia Oil has incorporated Big Boss Stores’ commercial and wholesale fuel and warehouse operations, currently operating as Phillips Energy, into its Total Petroleum division. This addition “strengthens the company’s fuel distribution footprint and enhances service capabilities for commercial, agricultural and industrial customers throughout the Southeast.”

Earlier this year, SunStop rolled out a new $7 snack pack. SunStop said the promotion lets customers build their own snack pack featuring:

  • Two hand-breaded chicken tenders with any dipping sauce.
  • Any size fountain drink.
  • Any flavor of Pringles chips.
  • A standard-size Mars candy bar.

“Our snack packs are perfect for a road trip,” said Michelle Weckstein, director of food and beverage brands for SunStop. “You can customize them and take them with you on the go. And you can’t beat the price!”
