Wawa representatives this week unveiled another location planned for State College in Pennsylvania during a community partnership event at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center, and “discussed an expansion that is projected to bring 10 stores to Centre and surrounding counties in the next five years,” reported local outlet State College.

The planned location near the intersection of East College Avenue and Squirrel Drive in College Township is its fourth site under contract in Centre County.

John Poplawski, Wawa chief real estate officer, suggested the Potter Township store would be the first to open, followed by College Township, then Benner Township and finally Ferguson Township. The dates for the openings are currently unclear.

“That is a tough question to answer. All of my developer partners and real estate folks here are working as hard as they can to get them open, as fast as they can,” Poplawski said. “We’re partnering with all the local officials, but things don’t happen overnight.”

Over at ampm, part of the BP brand, the retailer recently opened two new stores in Elk Grove and Stockton, California, as the convenience brand “continues its regional expansion on the West Coast,” the retailer said in a press release sent to NACS.

The new store in Stockton is located at 9036 Thornton Road (near Interstate 5). This location includes a 3,400-square-foot c-store, 25 auto-fueling positions and a car wash.

Both stores hosted grand opening events featuring giveaways for guests and ribbon cutting ceremonies with remarks from BP leaders and community stakeholders.

Meanwhile in Oklahoma, Love’s Travel Stops is reopening its travel stop in Seminole, Oklahoma, after a “complete raze and rebuild, reinforcing the company’s commitment to modernizing its network and enhancing the traveler experience.”

In addition to upgraded food amenities, the renovation equips the location with four remodeled showers, larger restrooms, expanded truck and car parking and seven dedicated RV spaces.

Love’s also recently opened a new travel stop in Big Spring, Texas off I-20. The Big Spring travel stop “is conveniently located between Love’s Midland and Sweetwater locations. It includes a Love’s Fresh Kitchen concept with fresh food items such as sandwiches, salads and fresh fruit prepared daily, as well as an Arby’s and a Dunkin’.”

Pennsylvania-based Rutter’s recently remodeled Rutter’s Store #18, located at Route 30 and Sherman Street in York, Pennsylvania. The store now features a coffee island, an upgraded ready-to-eat food bar, new seating areas and a 29-degree beer cave is on the way, the retailer told NACS.
