Wawa this week started construction on a store in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, located at 5109 Veterans Pkwy. The retailer also began working on a store in Clarksville, Tennessee. Both stores are projected to open in the second half of 2026, the retailer said in a press release.

The retailer also hosted a community partnership event at Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee to share company history, growth projections for the market and Wawa’s commitment to community.

“The events officially introduced Wawa to the community, announced expansion plans and welcomed VIP customers, local officials and charity partners. Attendees enjoyed a ‘Taste of Wawa,’ with fresh food and beverage favorites, including freshly brewed Wawa coffee, pretzels, teas and lemonades, and heard firsthand from Wawa Leadership on its expansion westward,” the retailer said.

“It’s official! Wawa is proud to be expanding to the Middle Tennessee market. We are thrilled to continue growing in new markets to provide the community with our one-of-a-kind offer and commitment to supporting the community,” said Joe Collins, director of store operations for Wawa. “We are excited to announce our plans and officially start construction on our stores and look forward to our first grand openings to begin serving the community in 2026.”

Wawa said its initial plans for the market will include opening six new Wawa stores in 2026 and up to 50 over the next ten years as it continues to work on finding and finalizing details for sites under contract.

Royal Farms this week announced a partnership with Electrify America, bringing electric vehicle (EV) charging at eight Royal Farms locations in Maryland. The charging stations will feature “Hyper-Fast chargers, capable of speeds up to 350 kW, and will help meet the growing demand for fast charging where life happens,” a press release said.

The first locations are open in Halethorpe and Oxon Hill. Additional Electrify America stations are set to open in Annapolis, Catonsville, Charlotte Hall, Columbia, Pikesville and Towson, bringing the total collaboration to more than 55 individual chargers across eight Royal Farms locations in Maryland, the retailer said.
