Pilot Travel Centers unveiled a new 20,000-square-foot flagship store this week, as well as widespread store modernizations, expanded services and more connected EV charging stations along national and regional travel corridors implemented throughout 2025 so far, according to a press release.

“Expanding into new communities and modernizing our locations are key to our strategy,” said Brad Anderson, chief operating officer at Pilot. “Each new location and remodel reflects our ambition to be the leading energy and experience provider, equipping drivers with everything they need to recharge and hit the road ready for what’s next.”

The new flagship travel center in Stanton, Tennessee is “now the largest travel center in Pilot’s network and features a bolder brand-forward design, a guest-focused layout with inviting spaces and expanded fresh food offerings.”

The retailer also reported that to date, it has upgraded more than 200 Pilot and Flying J locations as part of the company’s New Horizons initiative, while continuously integrating feedback from team members and guests after every remodel.

So far this year, the company has completed eleven remodels, “extensively upgrading restrooms and showers, expanding kitchens and implementing thoughtful layouts to create a more seamless and consistent experience for guests and team members.”

Pilot is also working on broadening its network, opening its first new travel center of the year in Winfield, Alabama, and adding three dealer locations to its Pilot and One9 travel center network. In addition, the company opened five new maintenance and tire service shops this quarter, bringing the total number of Southern Tire Mart at Pilot locations to more than 80 nationwide.

Pilot said it is driving forward with its EV network, now surpassing 130 locations in more than 25 states. Pilot, GM and EVgo first announced their collaboration in 2022 and are working to build a total of up to 2,000 fast-charging stalls at up to 500 Pilot and Flying J locations by 2026.
