Wawa is slated to open two new stores this month in Wilson, North Carolina, reported local news outlet The Wilson Times. The stores are set to open on September 19. To celebrate the grand openings, the “first-day” celebrations will include giveaways and a hoagie-building competition, and company officials said the first 100 customers to visit each store will receive free t-shirts. Free coffee will also be available in any size from September 19-29.
According to the news outlet, the event will conclude with a check presentation and a charitable hoagie-building contest between Wilson Fire/Rescue Services and the Wilson Police Department with a trophy and checks presented to both teams.
Wawa also began construction on its Dayton, Ohio location this month, as reported by WHIOTV7. According to the outlet, “Wawa said since the ceremony takes place on ‘Hunger Action Day’ they plan to donate $10,000 to The Foodbank.”
“We are thrilled to begin construction on our Huber Heights store officially launching our expansion in the Miami Valley and getting us closer to bringing the unique Wawa experience to new customers in more new markets,” said Joe Collins, director of store operations for Wawa. “We look forward to continuing to spread our wings in Ohio and can’t wait to get started serving our new friends and neighbors.”
7-Eleven opened nine new stores in the month of August. The new locations include Placerville, California; a new store on the March Air Reserve Base in California; a location with a Laredo Taco Company restaurant in Keenesburg, Colorado; Torrington, Connecticut; Raleigh, North Carolina; a new 7-Eleven store with a Raise the Roost Chicken and Biscuit restaurant in Hermitage, Tennessee; Woodway, Texas; a new 7-Eleven store with a Laredo Taco Company restaurant in La Porte, Texas; and a remodeled Stripes convenience store with a Laredo Taco Company restaurant in McAllen, Texas.
CEFCO opened a new location in Killeen, Texas. “The team is ready ... the food is hot and delicious ... all we need is you,” CEFCO said via a LinkedIn post.
Sheetz celebrated the opening of its new location in White Marsh, Maryland this month. The retailer donated money to the Special Olympics of Maryland in honor of the grand opening, with the money coming from both donations and round-up campaigns.
Sheetz will also open two new stores featuring truck diesel lanes this September. One location is in Salisbury, North Carolina, and the other is in Middletown, Virginia. “Spread across North Carolina and Virginia, each store will offer high flow diesel fuel and Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) for commercial trucks as well as a truck scale and free parking spaces available for overnight parking to truckers,” said the retailer.
According to Sheetz, each new store opening will offer customers grand opening festivities including free self-serve coffee and soda for the entire day as well as multiple prizes, including a grand prize giveaway of free Sheetz for a year.

Royal Farms celebrated the opening of its 300th store this week in Millersville, Maryland. To celebrate the milestone, “the company donated 300 backpacks filled with essential school supplies to The Preston Mitchum, Jr. Foundation's annual ‘Back-to-School Drive.’ The PMJ Foundation focuses on providing critical resources to shelters for individuals and families in need.”
