To celebrate National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, September 15-21, TravelCenters of America, part of the BP portfolio, will honor “the work professional drivers do every day to keep our country moving.”

According to the press release, drivers will be welcomed at TA, Petro and TA Express locations across the country with thousands of special offers compliments of Coca-Cola, Burger King, Pepsi, Keebler, Ruiz and Howes, and several promotional offers including discounts on oil changes, merchandise and free meals. Store team members will pass out thank you cards with surprise special offers inside and wear pins sharing personalized messages about what they appreciate most about professional drivers.

“We love having this week as an extra opportunity to do a little more to show how grateful we are for professional drivers,” said Debi Boffa, TA CEO. “I would like to thank all professional drivers for continuing to trust us while on the road working; we will continue our renewed focus on providing safer, cleaner site for our guests and will continue working to enhance the overall experience and make every guest feel welcomed and at home."

Earlier this summer, TravelCenters of America raised nearly $300,000 for St. Christopher Truckers Relief Fund (SCF) and TAT, formerly Truckers Against Trafficking, through two separate fundraisers. The retailer’s annual charity golf event held in August “was TA’s most successful event ever,” raising nearly $200,000 that will be distributed evenly between the two nonprofits.

The company also held a round-up campaign in June and July at participating TA, Petro and TA Express locations, which raised $89,000—that money will be donated to SCF, which provides financial assistance to professional drivers out of work due to illness or injury.

“We are deeply grateful for the entire TA team for their continued support and generosity. Their commitment to support and promote our programs significantly amplifies our efforts to assist truck drivers in need,” said Shannon Currier, director of philanthropy, SCF. “This long-time collaboration not only highlights the spirit of community within the trucking industry, but also provides essential support to our drivers, ensuring they receive the help they need while on the road.”
