Casey’s General Stores is running a Cash for Classrooms program throughout the month of August. The annual program encourages customers to round up their purchase to help fund grants for K-12 schools in Casey’s communities.
“Casey’s is here to make a positive impact in our communities and for guests who visit our stores every day. Our guests’ generosity helps us provide grants to local schools across Casey’s Country,” said Katie Petru, director of communications and community at Casey’s.
“Guests can round up their purchases every time they shop at Casey’s, which means getting your favorite pizza, daily fountain drink or on-the-go snack is an opportunity to give back.”
To date, Casey’s has raised more than $4 million for schools across its 17-state footprint.
In late July, Casey’s acquired Fike Wholesale, the owner of 198 CEFCO Convenience Stores, for $1.145 billion. The acquisition brings Casey’s overall store footprint to about 2,900 stores.
Wawa is also helping school staff members in Florida and Alabama this month with its Cheers to Classrooms program.
The annual initiative allows teachers and school staff to get a free hot coffee or fountain drink from August 5-18. The initiative will run in Wawa’s Mid-Atlantic stores in September.
“As everyday heroes of the classroom return back to school, we’re delighted to toast a new year by providing free coffee and beverages to teachers and school staff for the first two weeks of August,” said Robert Yeatts, senior director of store operations at Wawa.
“We hope this small gesture shows our deep appreciation for everything educators and school staff do for children in the community.”
