DES MOINES, IOWA—Kum & Go announced it is expanding into the Idaho market, according to a news release. The Iowa-based convenience retailer plans to open c-stores in Boise next year and is expanding to Michigan and Utah later this year. There are over 400 Kum & Go stores in 11 states currently.
“Kum & Go is excited to introduce a fresh perspective to the idea of immediate consumption in Boise,” said Kum & Go CEO Tanner Krause. “We’re committed to leveraging the latest technology, products and innovation to deliver the quality, value and service our customers deserve every day. We look forward to bringing our passion and purpose to Make Days Better to the Boise area.”
Kum & Go recently launched a new menu at select store locations offering fresh, made-to-order food, and all stores offer premium coffee brands. With Kum & Go’s mobile app, customers can order and purchase a variety of healthy options, while also benefitting from touchless fueling and exclusive offers.
In recent years, Kum & Go has made substantial investments in its workforce, and in 2010, Kum & Go became the only convenience store in the world certified under the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Volume Program with 109 buildings now holding LEED Certification. Last year, Kum & Go recently partnered with the Colorado Energy Office to introduce DC fast-charging stations to a newly opened store in the Wellington area.
Kum & Go has also made substantial investments in associate benefits in recent years. The company offers full-time employment opportunities with a benefits program that include medical and dental coverage, tuition reimbursement, 401(k) with match, paid time off and parental leave.
“We’re thrilled to introduce the Mountain West region to the Kum & Go brand with this move into Boise,” said Niki Mason, Kum & Go senior vice president of store development. “Boise’s rich history, culture and rapid growth align with our long-term plans for expansion and continued store enhancement. We’re excited to start serving and connecting with the Boise community.”
Two Kum & Go employees joined a recent Convenience Matters podcast episode to talk about how the retailer gives back to each community the Iowa retailer serves.
