What the 2020 Elections Mean for Convenience

Join political analyst Jim Ellis and NACS for an October 19 webinar on the race for the White House and Senate.

ALEXANDRIA, Va.—Election day in the U.S. is a little over three weeks away, and the outcome is far from decided, not to mention that a clear winner for the presidential race might not emerge on election night given record numbers of early, mail-in and absentee voting. More uncertainty clouds this election than any other during the modern political era.

To help convenience and fuel retailers sort out what’s at stake in not only the race for the White House but also the House and Senate races, NACS is hosting a free webinar, “2020 Elections and What They Mean for Convenience,” on Monday, October 19 at 2 p.m. ET.

Join Jim Ellis, a 35-year veteran of politics at the state and national levels who analyzes election data for major corporations, associations and legislative advocacy firms in this October 19 webinar. Ellis will share his predictions and a top-line view of what impact the election results might have on the convenience industry.

Polling in recent weeks has been mixed, with former Vice President Joe Biden seemingly expanding his lead against President Donald Trump, whose COVID-19 diagnosis threw another surprise in what has been a rough-and-tumble election season. Though Biden could prevail in the national popular vote, the presidency is won in the states. The candidate who wins the national popular vote doesn’t always take the Electoral College.
