Koupon Media and Skip Team Up

The partnership enables c-store retailers to provide personalized offers and frictionless checkout.

DALLAS — Koupon Media and Skip have partnered to deliver mobile offers to c-store shoppers. The partnership allows Koupon Media to send offers to customers as they shop using Skip’s technology and is expected to drive more forecourt-to-food-court conversions than ever before.

“Skip is changing the game by bringing a next-generation shopping experience to everyone in the convenience store industry. Its technology enables any retailer to launch checkout anywhere and ‘just walk out’ experiences in their stores, providing a new opportunity to deliver offers,” said Brad VanOtterloo, president of Koupon, in a press release. “We are excited to partner with such an innovative team. The integration is a no-brainer for both companies.”

This announcement follows Skip’s release of its frictionless checkout with Ricker’s last month. “By combining the frictionless experience of cashierless checkout from Skip and mobile offer technology from Koupon Media, Ricker’s will be better able to drive impulse purchases,” said Quinn Ricker, CEO and president of Ricker’s. “The fully integrated experience will allow us to leverage CPG-funded offers through mobile checkout in a seamless way.”

Skip’s technology allows any retailer to implement a checkout-anywhere experience to eliminate friction in the shopping process. The partnership with Koupon has the unique ability to drive impulse purchases by delivering instant and personalized offers based on the items that are currently in a shopper’s basket.

As part of the alliance, Skip will integrate Koupon’s mobile offer capabilities directly into its app, allowing brands and retailers participating in the Koupon Network or using Koupon’s technology to display offers within the Skip app or within their own Skip-powered shopping experiences. When customers are adding items to their baskets, Skip will reference Koupon’s database of offers to apply or suggest relevant deals for those customers.
