LAKEWOOD, Colo. – On August 1, severe heat and wildfires on the West Coast led the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to issue a regional emergency declaration for California, Oregon and Washington.

Specifically, the declaration waives hours of service requirements for drivers who are directly providing assistance to the emergency. Such relief efforts may include “transporting supplies, equipment, fuel and persons into and from the Affected States.” The waiver is in effect until August 31, 2018.  Read the declaration here.
