DALLAS – In 2019, Wingstop will introduce delivery service at restaurants around the United States using a proprietary platform, according to Nation’s Restaurant News.

Last week, company officials announced that Wingstop is investing in a new smartphone app and web interface and moving to an in-house platform that will help stores optimize delivery and upselling.

The chicken-wing eatery launched delivery in Las Vegas, Chicago and Austin in 2017, but executives say it has held off on expanding this service to enhance the guest experience and optimize accuracy, speed and execution. There’s been no announcement of where the next delivery service will be introduced.

About 24% of the company’s total sales are digital, and management expects that figure to hit 40% next year. In addition, delivery orders are more lucrative—about $5 more than an average order.

Founded in 1994, Dallas-based Wingstop owns and franchises more than 1,100 restaurants across the United States, as well as in Colombia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia and Singapore.
