AUSTIN, Texas and SEATTLE – This week, Amazon and Whole Foods Market gave more customers around the country two benefits. Whole Foods began offering free, two-hour delivery of products to Prime Now members in Baltimore, Boston, Philadelphia and Richmond, and Prime members in 10 additional states will receive Whole Foods discounts.

Now Prime members in these four cities can order best-selling items, including fresh produce, meat and seafood and staples from Whole Foods as part of a service started earlier this year. Customers who need their merchandise faster can take delivery within one hour for a charge of $7.99 on orders of $35 or more.

Prime Now delivery from Whole Foods is available daily from 8 am to 10 pm. Shoppers can visit www.primenow.com or download the Prime Now app to enter their zip code to see if they are in an approved delivery area.

The delivery service has been available in Atlanta, Austin, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Diego and San Francisco, and new cities will be added through the end of the year.

To get more consumers to sign up for the $119 annual Prime Now membership, Amazon is luring them with discounts from Whole Foods. Prime members shopping at Whole Foods locations can open the grocery chain's mobile app, sign in with their Amazon account and scan the Prime barcode at checkout to receive a discount.

As of Tuesday, that includes members in Alabama, Arizona, Georgia, Hawaii, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee and Washington. Also, Prime discounts now are available to members in all parts of California and Nevada.

The discount already was available to members living in Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri (Kansas City only), New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah.
