Thorntons Gives Back

The Kentucky-based retailer has partnered with the Dare to Care Food Bank, sorting and packing 12,000 pounds of canned goods and other items.

LOUISVILLE, KY - Thorntons?? team members volunteered their time and efforts on March 23 at the Dare to Care Food Bank in Louisville, sorting and packing more than 12,000 pounds of canned good and other items.

"At Thorntons we are very passionate about giving back to the communities that we serve", said Matt Thornton, president and CEO of Thorntons Inc. "This is just another way where are our team members can contribute and give back their time and talents to the local community."

Dare to Care Food Bank is a non-profit Kentucky corporation, a community leader that feeds the hungry. Last year, the agency procured and distributed 14 million pounds of food, including 4 million pounds of fresh produce, to 192,000 in Kentuckiana through its partnerships with more than 300 independent food pantries, emergency kitchens, and shelters.
