WAWA, Pa. – Wawa Inc. announced plans to hire more than 5,000 new associates during the next three months, with all of Wawa’s 700-plus stores across its six-state operating area looking to add new talent.

The company-wide hiring campaign will span the spring season, looking to fill customer-service level positions, and is part of Wawa’s overall commitment to provide job opportunities which can lead to fulfilling careers for community members across the company’s operating area.

“At Wawa, we exist to fulfill lives every day and part of this commitment means providing fulfilling job opportunities that can lead to fulfilling careers for the more than 26,000 Wawa associates who are part of our team,” said Dave Filano, manager of talent acquisition at Wawa. “As we continue to expand and grow, we’re excited to fill these 5,000-plus positions with people who will quickly become part of the Wawa Way.”

As part of the hiring campaign, every Wawa store will have job opportunities, and select Wawa stores will also host open houses throughout March and April where potential associates can receive a brief, first interview, learn more about Wawa’s culture, explore career opportunities and discover the important role Wawa associates play in their community.

More than 100 Wawa stores will hold the open house and will offer free coffee to all applicants who attend. Stores hosting the open houses will have a sign announcing the dates and times of the events. Individuals interested in career opportunities at Wawa are encouraged to apply online prior to attending an open house event.

Today Wawa is 41% owned by associates through the company’s employee stock ownership plan (ESOP). Nearly half of the ESOP is owned by store level associates and store management, and with more than 10,000 participants, Wawa’s ESOP ranks as one of the top 10 largest in the United States.
