Rutter’s Children’s Charities announced its $100k for the Holidays donation giveaway, where four local charities received $25,000 each.
The four donations this year were made to Blair Regional YMCA, Centre County Youth Service Bureau, Chambersburg Fire and Police and York County Children’s Advocacy Center.
“This is our second year doing the $100k for the Holidays donation giveaway, and we’re very excited about the organizations we’re able to support this holiday season. We look forward to doing even more in 2024…so stay tuned!” said Chris Hartman, president of Rutter’s Children’s Charities.
This round of donations marks $200,000 this holiday season from Rutter’s Children’s Charities.
Earlier this month, Rutter’s donated $100,000 to various local charities as part of its annual Secret Santa program. Nominated Rutter’s employees get the chance to choose an eligible charity, and Rutter’s Children’s Charities donates $1,000 to that organization. One hundred employees were chosen to participate in the charity event this year.
The selected charities have an emphasis on children, education and local community efforts.
Since its inception, the Secret Santa program has donated over $450,000 to local charities. Some of the recipients included the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association, Make-A-Wish Foundation and Salvation Army.
In other holiday giving news, New York-based c-store Mirabito kicked off the giving season last month with several fundraising and donation events like the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign as well as hosting a toy drive.
