Rutter’s Donates $75,000 to Local Nonprofits

The funds were raised through the Central Pennsylvania c-store’s 2022 Vote With Your Dollars program.

YORK, Pa.—Rutter’s has announced its 2022 Vote With Your Dollars program winners. With the help of Rutter’s VIP loyalty members, a total of $75,000 will be awarded to the Adams County SPCA, Make-A-Wish Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia, Ronald McDonald House Central Pennsylvania and York Habitat for Humanity.

“Supporting our local communities is a crucial part of Rutter’s values,” said Chris Hartman, Rutter’s senior director of fuels, forecourt, advertising and construction. “We love giving our customers the opportunity to help direct our donations to organizations they are passionate about, which makes it even more fun. Congratulations to the 2022 winners!”

The Adams County SPCA will receive $25,000 to provide essential care to lost, abandoned and abused animals, while Make-A-Wish Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia will also receive $25,000 to provide five children with wishes during their fight against terminal illnesses. The Ronald McDonald House of Central Pennsylvania will receive $15,000 to support families whose children are getting necessary medical care, and York Habitat for Humanity will receive $10,000 to help build safe, decent, affordable, homes for local families in need. 

The 16 participating charities in 2022 were: Adams County SPCA, Make-a-Wish Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia, Ronald McDonald House Central Pennsylvania, York Habitat for Humanity, New Hope Ministries, Keystone Girls Softball League, Service Paws of Central Pennsylvania, YWCA of York, Leg Up Farm, Susan P. Byrnes Health Education Center, Wildlife For Everyone, YMCA of Centre County-Anti Hunger Program, Reins and Rhythm Riding and Horsemanship, White Rose Leadership Institute, Brown's Helpin Handz and The Potters House of Ruth.
