WASHINGTON – Aloha Petroleum Ltd., one of the largest gas and convenience operators in the state of Hawaii, raised more than $10,000 to support the work of Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA).

Throughout April and May, customers at Aloha Island Mart locations could add a donation of $1 or more at checkout to support a healthier future for children in Hawaii and throughout the United States.

“Today’s families are on the move, and finding healthier options on the go can be challenging,” said Nancy E. Roman, president and CEO of Partnership for a Healthier America. “Not only is Aloha Petroleum making it easier for local families to have healthier options wherever they are, they are supporting our mission to ensure that the next generation of children grows up free from disease and chronic illnesses. Thank you to Aloha’s leadership, staff and customers for creating a healthier environment for children in Hawaii.”

Aloha first partnered with PHA in October 2016 and is expanding its healthier food options in Aloha Island Mart stores and will continue to make these choices more affordable while supporting its healthier options through in-store marketing and promotions.

“We couldn’t be more proud of our customers for their generosity in ensuring that Hawaii’s children and families have access to healthy and nutritious foods,” said Richard Parry, president and chief executive officer of Aloha Petroleum. “This year, we were able to increase donations to PHA by more than 80 percent, which is significant. We look forward to continuing our partnership and providing an expanded selection of healthy food and beverage offerings in our Aloha Island Marts.”
