NEW YORK – This week Fortune unveiled its second annual 100 Best Workplaces for Millennials, and two convenience stores shined within the top 40.

To determine its list, Fortune’s research partners surveyed more than 88,000 millennials at more than 600 companies that have been certified as a Great Place to Work. This year, QuikTrip and Sheetz came in at No. 31 and No. 35, respectively, while Mars and Clif Bar ranked No. 63 and No. 92, respectively.

QuikTrip
Fortune writes that 85% of the total workforce at QuikTrip is millennials. According to one millennial employee, “QuikTrip is a company that cultivates a sense of camaraderie between its coworkers. Many employees and members of the management staff will go out of their way to help with any professional or personal issues anyone may be struggling with. During a time when I was struggling with my lactation production, my area supervisor took the time on a particularly busy and stressful day to make time for me to have my quiet time to pump. It may seem minor, but it meant the world to have management take such an interest in something so personal with no benefit to them.”

Sheetz
With 65% of its workforce comprised of millennials, “You are never stuck doing just one thing. They constantly have you doing different things so you are trained in all the fields such as register, drive-thru kitchen, and running the sales floor. It definitely keeps working here interesting!” said a millennial employee at Sheetz.

“It is still a family-run company, so they treat everyone like family. After every five years of service, they take all their employees to a get-away at a very nice resort, which includes a lot of nice planned activities. It is a super nice gesture to make their employees feel valued,” said another millennial employee.

Mars
Coming in at No. 63 with 29% of its workforce made up of millennials, one millennial employee commented to Fortune that Mars demonstrates a unique investment in personal development and engagement. “Mars offers a wide range of training through its Mars University. At least once per month, someone from Mars University teaches a training course at my location. Not only that, but nobody gives me any grief for taking time off work to develop myself,” the millennial employee said.

Clif Bar & Company
Coming in at No. 92 with millennials comprising 26% of its workforce, one young employee told Fortune: “Everything about this company is unique. That is not an overstatement. Getting too specific would take forever, but I know without a doubt that I could walk up to our owner and CEO and have any sort of conversation I wanted. Whether it be a milestone moment for my family, or an issue that I needed help with at work. That level of openness flows down through management and sets the example for the entire company.”
