ALEXANDRIA, Va. - NACS recently debuted its Refer a Friend initiative for its Card Processing Program (CPP), which has been reducing card-processing fees for convenience store and fuel marketers since 2003.

Current retailers enrolled in CPP can earn a $100 credit toward payment processing for each credit-approved merchant they refer to the program. "NACS is excited to add this additional benefit to our CPP. 'Refer a Friend?? offers current CPP participants additional incentive to share their satisfaction with our complete processing solution and the discounted rates attained through NACS?? ongoing relationship with our processing provider, First Data," said Doug Spencer, director of products and services for NACS.

"Their willingness to reward NACS members who share the CPP 'success story?? demonstrates their ongoing commitment to helping address one of the biggest pain points in the convenience industry, as well as expressing thanks for their continued support of our program."

CPP members receive reduced processing fees by First Data, which aggregates NACS members and industry operators?? transactions to provide the lowest possible rates for our channel. With card payments in convenience stores growing from 21% of transactions in 1995 to 55.7% of transactions in 2010, this program helps c-stores pay the lowest possible interchange fee.
