Hoosier Lottery Expands Ticketing Hours

Indiana lottery terminals add three-and-a-half hours of operating time per day to the previous schedule.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The Hoosier Lottery has expanded the hours that convenience stores and other lottery retailers can sell lottery tickets, the Associated Press reports.

While the lottery typically shuts down its terminals from 11:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., as of last Sunday, lottery terminals now operate daily until 2 a.m. and resume operations at 3:30 a.m., adding three-and-a-half hours of operating time per day to the previous schedule.

Hoosier Lottery executive director Karl Browning said the expanded hours are a result of a new computer system provided by GTECH Corp., the company that took over management of the lottery’s day-to-day operations in October.

GTECH’s contract requires it to increase revenue for the state by roughly $500 billion over the next five years.
