IRVINE, CA - Taco Bell announced earlier this week the "world's largest free taco offer on Facebook," offering a free crunchy, seasoned beef taco to Facebook members who "like" the Taco Bell page.

"Throughout the beef class action lawsuit, the response and enthusiasm from our Facebook community has been overwhelmingly positive," said Greg Creed, Chief Executive Officer, Taco Bell. "We found it only fitting to reward these 5.4 million fans and a friend with a free taco. It??s our way of saying thanks for their loyalty and support."

Taco Bell will promote the giveaway with Facebook ads featuring the brand's sauce packet emblazoned with "Thumbs up to you Friend!" with copy that reads: "Thanks so much for your support! What's not to 'Like' about a free taco?"

Responding to a recent lawsuit that challenges the beef content of its taco, Taco Bell launched a nationwide ad campaign January 28 "setting the record straight" about its signature item, with full page ads in national publications, a YouTube video, and online ads on Google, Yahoo, YouTube, and other social media networks.

The free taco offer is limited to 10 million downloaded coupons; limit one free online coupon per person. For more details, visit Taco Bell's Facebook page.
