WHITEHOUSE STATION, NJ --- Millennials’ dining habits are considerably different from their parents—just ask the parent of any 18- to 33-year-old.

Whether it’s snacks as meals, the ability to eat while walking, or having non-traditional foods any time of the day, sitting down to eat does not necessarily meet the needs of today’s younger generation of fast-paced multi-taskers, who also tend to eat out more often. But they do like to feel like they’re getting great tasting food for a great price. And for this generation, great tasting includes more complex, bold and spicy flavors.

To meet these needs, QuickChek, a market leader in the fresh convenience industry with an award winning, innovative fresh food and beverage program, is introducing its new line of Walking Tacos.

Consumers start by choosing a bag of either Nacho Cheese Doritos, Cool Ranch Doritos or Fritos, and build their meal by adding their choice of toppings: QuickChek’s signature spicy chili, shredded cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, and olives, using the same touch-screen technology the chain offers with their custom-made oven-toasted subs, sandwiches, wraps and salads.

Once the customer has created their Walking Taco, grab a fork and keep on walking for the perfect anytime, on-the-go snack. These affordable fast casual treats start at just $3.49.

“Younger consumers love customization, they want to be able to order food exactly how they want it any time of the day,” said QuickChek’s Director of Foodservice Jennifer Vespole. “Whether its lunch-in-a-bag or an anytime snack on the go, our new Walking Tacos provide the portability of eating-while-walking while delivering the personal touch the consumer craves. You can build your Walking Taco exactly to your tastes and be on your way.”

Also new to the menu are six signature mac ‘n cheese bowls starting at $3.99.
