MINNEAPOLIS – General Mills Convenience is launching a series of new products exclusively for the convenience channel, to appeal to customers seeking a variety of snacking opportunities, both spicy and sweet. The General Mills Convenience & Foodservice division serves the convenience, foodservice and bakery industries by providing quality products from time-trusted brands along with culinary, nutrition education and marketing resources to help operators succeed.

For customers seeking a fiery fix, two new flavors of Chex® Xtreme™, available in one-ounce single-serve “slampack” packages, were specifically designed to meet c-store shoppers’ demand for portability and on-the-go consumption. Chex Xtreme is available in Spicy Sriracha and Hot Chile & Lime flavors, with suggested product placement in the warehouse salty set next to nuts and seeds.

Taking advantage of the increasing consumer demand for healthy and gluten-free items, General Mills Convenience’s Nature Valley™ Simple Nut Bar is made with wholesome nuts and seeds and comes in clear packaging to showcase their recognizable ingredients. The chewy, gluten-free bars are available in two varieties: Almond, Cashew & Sea Salt, and Roasted Peanut & Honey. Shoppers who like both sweet and spicy, while indulging in a healthy-feeling snack, will appreciate the new Nature Valley™ Sweet & Spicy Granola Bar in Chili Dark Chocolate. The chewy granola bar is dipped in chocolate-flavored coating with dark chocolate, nuts, seeds and some cayenne pepper for a spicy kick.
