ALEXANDRIA, Va. – On this week’s episode of Convenience Matters, “Price Matters,” NACS hosts Jeff Lenard and Carolyn Schnare dive into the 2018 NACS Consumer Fuels survey findings which will be released in full in the March 2018 edition of NACS Magazine.

Understanding how consumers feel about gasoline prices can help convenience retailers execute their marketing strategies. It’s also important to determine how consumers buy gas and how they shop for cars based on gas mileage.

To compliment the research findings, Donovan Woods of the Fuels Institute, visited with car shoppers at the 2018 Washington D.C. Auto Show, asking what they looked for when purchasing vehicles. Find out if fuel efficiency, style and comfort, fuel type and age have anything to do with what customers wanted.

According to Lenard, “We see new things emerge about what people think about the brand and the reputation [of stores] that is much different. People are less price sensitive about gas.” But, there’s so much more to a driver’s decision-making process, and Lenard details that during the episode.

Each week a new Convenience Matters episode is released. The weekly podcast can be downloaded on iTunes, Google Play Music and Stitcher and at www.conveniencematters.com. Episodes have been downloaded by listeners in more than 95 countries, more than 38,000 times.
