INVER GROVE HEIGHTS, Minn.—Cenex Zip Trip, owned and operated by CHS Inc., has launched its third annual summer giveaway promotion. Called the “Dog Days of Summer Giveaway,” the promotion began on July 18 and runs through September 5.
Customers who are 21 years and older can visit any of Cenex Zip Trip’s 39 stores during the promotional period to enter to win one of several prizes, including the grand prize of a one-year supply of fuel. Additional weekly prizes include coolers, Bluetooth speakers, a smokeless fire pit and more. Customers can enter to win as often as once per day, per location by scanning a QR code located on the promotional materials in each store.
Additionally, to help strengthen hometown communities and support animals in need, Cenex Zip Trip is donating $500 during each of the seven weeks to different animal shelters across its footprint. Customers and social media followers are encouraged to nominate their favorite animal shelter to win. The top nominee each week will receive the $500 donation.
“With the fuel prices we’ve experienced this year, we not only wanted to bring some fun and excitement to our stores, but also offer one lucky customer some relief at the pump,” said Andrea Worley, Cenex Zip Trip marketing specialist. “We also love involving our customers and communities in selecting some local animal shelters to support.”
Several winners will be randomly selected each week throughout the promotion with the grand-prize winner selected after September 5.
In 2020, Cenex introduced its LIFT initiative, a lighting, image and facility transformation designed to revamp Cenex-branded c-stores through a series of exterior and interior updates, along with optional loan funding for in-store improvements. NACS Magazine covered Cenex’s launch of the LIFT initiative in the May 2021 issue, and in March, NACS Magazine spotlighted a rural Wisconsin convenience store that needed a face “LIFT.”
Akhtar Hussain, director of refined fuels marketing, Cenex, was recently featured the NACS Convenience Matters podcast to discuss how Cenex sees the current economic state as a way to further solidify its commitment to the communities it serves.
