ALEXANDRIA, Va.—As more than one million c-stores remain open during the COVID-19 pandemic, Liquid Barcodes is releasing a “pre-order and pre-pay” solution that can be deployed within one week for retailers.
Liquid Barcodes, a loyalty marketing platform for convenience retailers, recognizes that as consumer demand rises, c-stores need to stay cognizant of how much time customers spend in the store—and how close they are to one another, as well as staff members.
This new “pre-order and pre-pay” solution allows customers to order from their phone, tablet or computer, choose their preferred store location and when they plan to pick up their order. Customers also pay for the items in the app. Employees prepare the order and either get it ready for in-store pick-up or bring it out to the customer's car when they arrive or when they are filling up on gas.
“With the convenience industry one of the few retail sectors still operating, we realized we have a critical role to play right now, supporting retail stores as they implement social distancing,” said Mats Danielsen, CEO of Liquid Barcodes. “By allowing customers to pre-order and pre-pay, our technology dramatically reduces the need for them to linger or queue in store.”
